Offering Medical Supplies in Salt Lake City

Our Salt Lake City medical supply store sits at 4030 S State St, right in the heart of Utah’s capital, and we’ve been helping families across the city and surrounding neighborhoods since 1997. Salt Lake residents know us. Whether you’re coming in after a hospital discharge, helping a parent figure out what they need at home, or just starting to research your options, we’ll take the time to have a real conversation about what actually makes sense for your situation.

Our showroom floor is stocked and fully set up with power reclining lift chairs, hospital beds, mobility scooters, power chairs, Hoyer lifts, walkers, manual wheelchairs, bath chairs, commodes, toilet seat risers, CPAP and BiPAP machines, portable and home oxygen concentrators, cold therapy units, compression socks, and daily living aids. Everything is assembled and ready to try before you commit to anything. Most items are available to purchase or rent, and our respiratory therapists and rehab technicians are on hand to walk you through the differences and help you find what fits.

When you come into our Salt Lake City store, there’s no pressure to buy fast or figure it out alone. We look at your health needs, your home setup, and your budget, then point you in the right direction. That might mean a purchase, a rental, or recommending a few things you didn’t know you needed. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that getting the right equipment the first time saves a lot of hassle later.

It took less than 10 minutes to collect all the oxygen tanks and concentrator which I had been using for 10 years...because I swapped to Intermountain...for they had a better understanding about swapping out tanks...they brought tanks to shut in patients...in Greenbriar apartments many people are in need of this service...consider this please next time..they deliver...in house swap

I came in looking for some replacement parts for old equipment that needed a refresh and found them to purchase in stock (and available to order, if needed)! The team was kind and helpful, overall a great experience. Rather than throwing away gently used pieces, I am pleased that Alpine supports the concept of reuse!

The batteries in my Quantum needed to be replaced. Terry was the tech that changed them. He was able to get a reduced price which endeared him to us. He then put the batteries that he had replaced in to my older chair. It was no simple task but he pursued and accomplished what was needed. Terry is a real asset to your company. We are very grateful for his service. June 14, 2024 Yesterday Terry replaced the motors on my Q6. Terry went out of his way to get us the best deal possible, and he got it! We really enjoy having Terry visit us. He always accomplishes the tasks that we present him with. He knows what he is doing, does it well no matter what it is, and does it quickly and correctly. Terry us one of our favorite people. Alpine is lucky to have him. 5 Stars!

Was a good experience generally very helpful. Only thing I didn't like was my companion died June 8 got a call June 9 wanting to pick everything up and set time to do that but we still had to plan funeral out of town with no set date. Person who called was not very understanding about it so I hung up on them. Got a call few days later everything was returned. The men who picked it all up were kind and fast.

Serving the Unique Needs of Salt Lake City Residents

Salt Lake City is the state capital and Utah’s largest city, with a population of approximately 218,000 residents and a median age of 33. About 12.5% of city residents are 65 or older, which puts roughly 27,250 seniors within city limits alone. Salt Lake County as a whole is home to more than 1.2 million people, with a large and growing senior population spread across Murray, Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, South Salt Lake, and West Valley City. Utah’s 65-and-older population grew by more than 17% between 2020 and 2024, and Salt Lake County accounts for the largest share of that growth statewide.

The numbers behind that growth matter. A Salt Lake County survey found that 78% of adults 65 and older want to age in place, and 30.8% of that same group report living with a disability, with ambulatory difficulty being the most common. That’s tens of thousands of people in this county alone who may need a walker, a power scooter, grab bars for the shower, or a lift chair that makes getting up and down safer and less painful every day.

Salt Lake City is also a regional medical hub, home to major hospital systems that draw patients from across the Mountain West. Patients discharging from Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, University of Utah Hospital, Intermountain LDS Hospital, St. Mark’s Hospital, or Holy Cross Hospital regularly need home medical equipment ready before they get home. Alpine Home Medical is located less than 20 minutes from the University of Utah Hospital campus and works directly with discharge planners to help patients get what they need quickly. Same-day pickup and next-day delivery are both available. We serve Salt Lake City and the surrounding communities of Murray, Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, South Salt Lake, West Valley City, and the broader Wasatch Front.

How close are you to the University of Utah hospital and clinics?

We’re about 20 minutes from the University of Utah Hospital via Foothill Drive and I-80 West. Many patients and their families stop by after appointments to pick up equipment their doctors recommended, and we work closely with discharge planners at the U of U to make sure patients have what they need when they head home.
