Offering Medical Supplies in Salt Lake City

Our Salt Lake City medical supply store sits at 4030 S State St, right in the heart of Utah’s capital, and we’ve been helping families across the city and surrounding neighborhoods since 1997. Salt Lake residents know us. Whether you’re coming in after a hospital discharge, helping a parent figure out what they need at home, or just starting to research your options, we’ll take the time to have a real conversation about what actually makes sense for your situation.

Our showroom floor is stocked and fully set up with power reclining lift chairs, hospital beds, mobility scooters, power chairs, Hoyer lifts, walkers, manual wheelchairs, bath chairs, commodes, toilet seat risers, CPAP and BiPAP machines, portable and home oxygen concentrators, cold therapy units, compression socks, and daily living aids. Everything is assembled and ready to try before you commit to anything. Most items are available to purchase or rent, and our respiratory therapists and rehab technicians are on hand to walk you through the differences and help you find what fits.

When you come into our Salt Lake City store, there’s no pressure to buy fast or figure it out alone. We look at your health needs, your home setup, and your budget, then point you in the right direction. That might mean a purchase, a rental, or recommending a few things you didn’t know you needed. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that getting the right equipment the first time saves a lot of hassle later.

People are friendly and very accommodating. I had insurance issues due to misunderstandings and payments were delayed and you folks were patient and helpful. Things are now all caught up and current. Recent visit by technician to swap out mal functional equipment and replace filter was satisfactory. Thank you! PS I am awaiting a visit from your experts to upgrade and assist in equipment smaller and more mobile because I am a long distance walker/jogger but with breathing complications.

I will say it would have been nice to have had a notice a little earlier so we could plan my doctor appointment that was needed to update my service with Alpine. Having said that everything went very well quick and Tom really helped to make sure I had everything I needed. Alpine has been taking care of me for many years and at a moment notice. Thank you Alpine

Serving the Unique Needs of Salt Lake City Residents

Salt Lake City is the state capital and Utah’s largest city, with a population of approximately 218,000 residents and a median age of 33. About 12.5% of city residents are 65 or older, which puts roughly 27,250 seniors within city limits alone. Salt Lake County as a whole is home to more than 1.2 million people, with a large and growing senior population spread across Murray, Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, South Salt Lake, and West Valley City. Utah’s 65-and-older population grew by more than 17% between 2020 and 2024, and Salt Lake County accounts for the largest share of that growth statewide.

The numbers behind that growth matter. A Salt Lake County survey found that 78% of adults 65 and older want to age in place, and 30.8% of that same group report living with a disability, with ambulatory difficulty being the most common. That’s tens of thousands of people in this county alone who may need a walker, a power scooter, grab bars for the shower, or a lift chair that makes getting up and down safer and less painful every day.

Salt Lake City is also a regional medical hub, home to major hospital systems that draw patients from across the Mountain West. Patients discharging from Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, University of Utah Hospital, Intermountain LDS Hospital, St. Mark’s Hospital, or Holy Cross Hospital regularly need home medical equipment ready before they get home. Alpine Home Medical is located less than 20 minutes from the University of Utah Hospital campus and works directly with discharge planners to help patients get what they need quickly. Same-day pickup and next-day delivery are both available. We serve Salt Lake City and the surrounding communities of Murray, Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, South Salt Lake, West Valley City, and the broader Wasatch Front.

What insurance do you accept at your Salt Lake City medical supply store?

We accept most major insurance plans including Medicare, Aetna, PEHP, Cigna, and many others. We also accept HSA and FSA cards for qualifying purchases. Our Salt Lake team can help determine what’s covered before you make any purchases.

Can I rent equipment for visiting family members in Salt Lake City?

Absolutely. We get a lot of out-of-town family members who need temporary equipment while visiting loved ones in the Salt Lake area. Whether it’s a wheelchair for getting around downtown or a hospital bed for a longer stay, we can set up short-term rentals and deliver right to where you’re staying.

Do you offer financing options at the Salt Lake City store?

Yes, we partner with Mountain America Credit Union to offer flexible financing plans for larger purchases like lift chairs, power scooters, and hospital beds. Our team can walk you through the options and help you find a payment plan that works for your budget.

How close are you to the University of Utah hospital and clinics?

We’re about 20 minutes from the University of Utah Hospital via Foothill Drive and I-80 West. Many patients and their families stop by after appointments to pick up equipment their doctors recommended, and we work closely with discharge planners at the U of U to make sure patients have what they need when they head home.

Do you provide equipment for patients being discharged from local hospitals?

Yes, if you’re being sent home with a prescription for medical equipment, we can help you get what you need. Just bring your prescription to our Salt Lake City store, and we’ll take care of getting you the right equipment with same-day pickup or next-day delivery available.

What makes your Salt Lake store different from other medical supply stores?

We’re locally owned with certified respiratory therapists and rehab technicians on staff. We are ACHC Accredited, which means we comply with national quality and safety standards for patient care and management. Plus, we’ve been voted Best of State in Utah for 14 years running, so you know you’re getting quality products and service right here in your own community.
