Finding the Right Fit Matters
Getting the right mobility equipment isn’t just about comfort — it’s about safety, independence, and quality of life.
That’s why Alpine Home Medical follows a proven process that brings together different professionals with specialized expertise. Each person plays a key role in making sure your equipment fits your needs, meets medical requirements, and qualifies for insurance coverage.
Meet the Two Key Experts on Your Team
1. The Therapist (LCMP)
You’ll often start with a physical or occupational therapist, known as a Licensed Certified Medical Professional (LCMP).
They’ll evaluate your mobility needs — including balance, strength, posture, and daily activities — and document why a specific device will help you move safely and comfortably at home.
Think of your therapist as your advocate for safety and independence.
2. The Equipment Specialist (ATP)
Next, you’ll meet with an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) — a certified mobility expert from Alpine Home Medical.
The ATP takes your therapist’s recommendations and matches you with the right wheelchair, scooter, or power chair. They handle all the technical details — from measurements to accessories — so your equipment works seamlessly for your lifestyle.
Together, your therapist and ATP create a personalized plan that ensures your equipment is safe, medically appropriate, and built around you.
Why the Process Matters
We know it can feel like a lot of appointments and paperwork, but each step protects you.
Insurance companies require this process to confirm medical necessity and ensure your equipment meets all standards for safety and reimbursement.
Following this process means:
- ✅ You get the right equipment for your exact medical needs
- ✅ Documentation is handled correctly for insurance approval
- ✅ Your setup is safe, measured, and fitted properly
- ✅ Everyone involved — including you — is protected from costly delays or denials
It’s not just about meeting rules; it’s about making sure you get the right help, the right way.
